Banana Smoothie

Tired of cleaning out the food processor? This recipe can be made almost as easily in a regular cup. Simply fork-mash the banana until it's creamy, and then mix in the yogurt and water with a spoon.

1 Serving

½ ripe banana

½ cup vanilla yogurt (regular or soy)

½ cup orange juice

  • Peel the banana and remove any damaged spots. Cut into slices and place in a blender or food processor.

  • Add the juice and yogurt.

  • Blend until the drink is completely smooth.

  • Refrigerate any leftover drink immediately.

For the Older Crowd

If you're whipping up this drink for grownups, there are a couple of small additions you could make to improve on the flavor and texture. Try using crushed ice instead of orange juice, and add a touch of banana liqueur. You can also add a bit of lemon juice, or serve it with a slice of lemon in the glass — the acidity will make a pleasing contrast to the banana.
