Lima Beans

Lima beans, also called butter beans, are a great source of fiber. They have a sweet taste that many babies like right away. To counteract the fiber, though, be sure to offer in small amounts, or combine with a binding fruit such as bananas.

2 Servings

¼ cup lima beans (fresh or frozen)

2 cups water or chicken stock

  • Rinse the lima beans.

  • Bring the water or chicken stock to a boil. Add lima beans.

  • Reduce heat and simmer for 25–30 minutes, or until beans are completely tender.

  • Fork-mash to desired consistency, or serve as finger food.
