Brainstorm

Think long and hard about whether you have the desire, ability, and temperament to write with other people. If it's clear that it's not for you, that's fine. But if you're on the fence about it, give it a try. Make a list of the people you might consider writing with. Make sure to consider writers you can learn from — and who can learn from you.

Make the initial attempt casual — maybe one sketch for a specific show. You could invite another comic to be an actor in a sketch you've already written and give him the freedom to add his comedy into the part. If things go well, try it again with another sketch.

Don't focus on just one person; don't “go steady” with anyone just yet. Play the field until you find the chemistry that seems to work best.
