Final Thought

It is easier to make your own opportunities today than at any other time. Because of the Internet, you're only required to be good. It's easier to get your work seen. You can put comedy out there every day if you want, and you can write what you want. If you have an idea for a short film, make it. If you have a comment about something topical, put it on your blog. If you write a great short story, post it on your site. You can just do it cheaply and efficiently, because of technology.

You don't have to worry about opportunities passing you by; you make them for yourself. If you can't get stage time, start your own venue. If you can't get published, publish yourself and sell your own work at www.amazon.com or www.lulu.com. While you're waiting to be discovered, make yourself better by discovering your own challenges. Trust in what you do, love what you do, and respect yourself and your talent.

Oh, and one more thing — don't forget to have fun.
