Once you've received your diploma, packed your things, and left your college for the last time, you may think your affiliation with the institution is over. But for most students, this is not the case. Your college's alumni council will make a strong effort to keep in touch with you, and you should also value this connection. Alumni councils plan gatherings for alumni long after graduation, send out newsletters to update past students on changes in the college, and even offer help with finding jobs and graduate school programs.
