Hot Buttered Sugarplum Rum

Makes 1 drink

1 ounce dark rum

½ ounce plum liqueur

2 spoonfuls hot buttered-rum mix

Hot water

Plums originate from Damascus, Syria, and from Persia. They have stones that, like human fingerprints, are each one unique. The most popular food item made with plums is plum sauce, which is also called Chinese duck sauce.

Pour the dark rum, plum liqueur, and hot buttered-rum mix into a mug. Fill with hot water and stir to dissolve. You can substitute light rum if desired or omit the rum altogether. Try this recipe with homemade Hot Buttered Rum Mix (page 118).
