Sweet Potato Fries

These are a tasty alternative to regular fries. Serve them with a dipping sauce made from honey, mayonnaise, and cinnamon. Mix small amounts of these ingredients together until you perfect your own sweet dipping sauce!

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 4

  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • 4 cups vegetable oil
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Peel sweet potatoes and slice them into ½-inch-thick planks lengthwise. Stack the planks and slice them lengthwise into ½-inch-wide sticks.

  3. Heat oil in a deep pot to 330°F.

  4. Add 1 cup of the sweet potatoes to the hot oil; blanch for 3 minutes. Remove the potatoes from the oil, lay them out on a baking sheet pan, and repeat the process with the rest of the sweet potatoes.

  5. Bake sweet potatoes for 30–45 minutes, until they become crisp.

Good toppings for baked sweet potatoes are butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, and pecans.
