Chocolate sauce is thin and creamy, but hot fudge is thick and sticky, making it perfect for topping ice cream.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 3 cups
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- 1½ cups water
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
In a saucepan over medium-high heat, heat and stir together the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes.
Stir the cocoa powder and chocolate chips into the sugar syrup until the chips are completely melted.
Remove from heat, strain, and refrigerate.
