Spiced Almonds

Sweet, spicy, and salty nuts are a refined snack to munch on before or after dinner. These also make a great after-school snack for kids.


  • 8 ounces whole almonds, skin on
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Toss nuts with oil in a bowl, sprinkle remaining ingredients over nuts, and toss to coat.

  3. Bake for 15 minutes.

Soup to Nuts

Nuts are often served before or after dinner, but they are also perfect for serving in salads and can even be turned into soup. Colonial Americans in Virginia and Georgia made a unique and delicious soup out of peanuts.
