Colic is perhaps the most frustrating condition in all of pediatrics. Certainly, it is the source of tremendous anxiety for the parents of the estimated million babies in the United States who suffer from this condition. Driven by desperation, these parents go to great length in seeking a solution to stop their baby from crying. At best, these folk remedies and treatments do nothing to help the crying baby; at worst, they actually cause significant harm to the baby.
