Ahealthy Chihuahua can live a very long time. Even the average lifespan of fourteen to sixteen years is nearly double that of many large-and giant-breed dogs. Along with longevity can come some aches and pains and perhaps a few special needs. Caring for an aging Chihuahua, however, is rarely a chore. Instead, it's a way for us to show our love by offering a little extra care and tenderness in sincere appreciation for all the years of joy we've received from our dogs.
