Walnuts Over St. Andre
St. Andre is a triple-cream Brie, well known for its buttery flavor. Combine with walnuts to accentuate the butter and nut flavors. Serve as a creamy dessert or a decadent appetizer.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 6 to 8
- ½ pound St. Andre cheese
- 1 to 2 walnut halves
- ¼ cup walnuts, crushed
- Drizzle of walnut oil
Place wedge of St. Andre on a serving plate, sprinkle with crushed walnuts, and decorate with walnut halves.
Drizzle with walnut oil and serve.
Nut oils are becoming increasingly popular. Look for pure walnut, hazelnut, and pistachio oils to liven up your recipes. They are not inexpensive, but you only need small amounts, so don't buy nut oils in quantity. Once open, keep them in the refrigerator to prevent these delicate oils from becoming rancid.
