Sautéed Chard with Shaved Prima Donna
Try this easy recipe as a side dish to grilled chicken, steak, or fish. It's a little bit of Italy and Holland, combined.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 2
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1 large bunch fresh Swiss chard, chopped into 1- or 2-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ cup Prima Donna cheese (or any Gouda aged over 1 year), shaved
Warm the olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, then sauté the sliced garlic until it is lightly browned.
Add the chopped chard, toss with the garlic and oil, and continue tossing lightly until the leaves wilt. Let simmer a minute longer, then remove the pan from the heat.
Slide chard and garlic onto a serving platter, drizzle with balsamic vinegar, and add salt and pepper to taste.
Top with Prima Donna shavings, and serve immediately.
