Tuetates
The third god Lucan mentions is Teutates, a god of war. Teutates (also Teutatis and Teutanos) was often associated with the Roman Mars. Lucan records that those victims sacrificed to Teutates were drowned in cauldrons, bringing to mind the ancient tales of the resurrection of warriors through the waters of the cauldron of life. Teutates is referred to in some accounts in the plural, which has led to speculation that there were multiple instances of the god who may have been tribal patrons or protectors.
