The message of Jesus and of the Gospels that tell his story will always remain the same. However, the interpretation of Christ's message changes along with developments in human understanding. The Holy Spirit, acting through the Church, can take a new and unexpected direction, continually renewing the Catholic faith. The Church is not stagnant in its thinking — it is constantly transforming, as it grows in its understanding of Christ's love.
