Roman Catholicism teaches that Revelation is one deposit of faith, Scripture, and Sacred Tradition. There is nothing added to or deleted from Revelation, but how Catholics know and understand that deposit of faith receives regular input through the teaching office of the church, referred to as the magisterium. Somewhat mysterious to many, including some Roman Catholics, the teachings of popes, local bishops, and national episcopal conferences comprise the magisterium. While teachings fall into different categories and have various levels of significance, they all assist Catholics in their daily exercise of faith.
