Roman Catholicism is centered in adherence to the Scriptures and the practice of the Sacraments. Yet, it is the daily lived experience that must govern the faith Catholics hold and cherish. Moral theology is the study of how Roman Catholics apply the teachings of the church through the light of Revelation to daily decisions. While various approaches to moral theology exist, and disagreements abound on proper moral action, Catholics have always upheld the authority of the natural law in its application to daily life.
