Ultimately, your goal as a cartoonist is to put your work in front of as many people as possible. In many cases, that means getting your cartoon printed. Just a few years ago, that would have meant sending a finished illustration to a printer's engraving department, where they would handle the many aspects of getting the illustration ready for publication. Today, it's your responsibility to prepare your work for print.
