Sugar-and Fat-Free Sweetened Condensed Milk
This recipe needs to be stored in the refrigerator where it should chill for 2 hours before use. It has a shelf life of 2 weeks.
INGREDIENTS | MAKES 12 OUNCES
- 1 cups nonfat dry milk powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup Splenda
In glass measuring cup, stir together milk powder and water until they form a paste.
Cover and microwave on high for 45 seconds or until hot but not boiling.
Stir in Splenda. Cover and store.
Sweetened condensed milk is often used in baking sweet treats, but its high fat content make it less than ideal. You can still get the sweet taste and creamy texture from healthy alternatives, such as this recipe. You can make it in advance and keep it in the refrigerator until you need it.
