Unusual Rolled Beeswax Candles
If you can find a good, inexpensive supply of beeswax from a beekeeper, you might want to experiment with rolling beeswax candles into unusual shapes. Experiment with cutting the sheet diagonally — this will produce a spiral effect in the finished candle. If you get beeswax sheets that have aged into a darker color along with newer ones of a lighter color, you can cut two together on the diagonal, one slightly larger than the other, which will give you the result of a striped spiral effect — interesting yet attractively understated. (See Chapter 6, “Handmade Rolled and Poured Candles” to refresh your memory about how to make rolled candles.)
