Sugar Cake

Combine gooey brown sugar and light yellow cake for this lovely, versatile dessert. Serve with sliced peaches or other fleshy fruits for an extra luscious treat.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 8

  • ½ cup soy margarine
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup soy milk
  • 1 18.5-ounce box Duncan Hines yellow cake
  • Sugar Cake Topping
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a sheet cake pan.

  2. Melt margarine in saucepan over low heat. Whisk in brown sugar and soy milk. Remove from heat. Pour into sheet cake pan.

  3. Layer cake mix on top of the brown sugar mixture. Shake pan to even out mixture. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool on rack.

  4. Frost with Sugar Cake Topping.
