Thanksgiving Pie Dump Cake

This is a great recipe to pass family style or share at potluck dinners. It travels well and is a warm, sweet, comforting dish that’s sure to please.


  • 4 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 14-ounce can pumpkin purée (not pie filling)

  • 1 12-ounce can evaporated milk

  • 1 18-ounce box yellow cake mix

  • 1 cup butter

  • 1 cup pecans

  • 1 recipe Whipping Cream

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a casserole dish.

  • Beat eggs, cinnamon, sugar, pumpkin, and evaporated milk in a large mixing bowl with a wooden spoon. Pour into casserole dish.

  • Layer dry yellow cake mix on top of pumpkin mixture. Dot with pats of butter. Garnish with pecans. Bake for 1 hour. When cool, top with whipping cream.
