Strawberry Cake from DIY Mix
This simple strawberry cake contains sugar and spice and everything nice, so it's perfect for a girly cake — but the boys like the taste, too!
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 8–12
- 4 cups Basic DIY Cake Mix
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 egg whites
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 10-ounce package frozen strawberries, thawed
- ¼ cup softened, unsalted butter
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour cake pans. Set aside.
Pour cake mix into a large bowl. Make a well in the center. Add skim milk, strawberries, and butter. Beat for 3 minutes or until a smooth batter forms.
Add vanilla and egg whites; thoroughly combine. Pour into cake pans.
Bake for 35 minutes or until the center of the cake springs back when lightly touched.
