INGREDIENTS | MAKES 24 HUSHPUPPIES
- 1 9-ounce package cornbread mix
- 1 9-ounce package yellow cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- ¼ cup milk
- Oil for frying
Combine all ingredients except milk and oil. Mix to form a crumbly mixture. Add milk and stir to form a batter.
Drop by teaspoons into 1 inch hot oil in a 12″ skillet.
Cook until golden on both sides. Remove from oil and let drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
