Breakfast Bake Casserole
This sweet and savory morning treat is easy to make as long as there's a steaming cup of coffee at your side.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 6
- 2 cups yellow cake mix, divided
- 8 slices bacon, cooked
- 1 4-ounce can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 ½ cups shredded mild Cheddar cheese
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- ½ cup butter
Sprinkle 1 cup cake mix in the bottom of a well-buttered 8″ square baking dish.
Top with bacon, mushrooms, onions, and cheese. Sprinkle with remaining cake mix.
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. Pour over layered ingredients. Refrigerate at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Dot with butter and bake, uncovered, for 1 hour or until center is set.
