Turnip Spice Cake
Warm, mashed turnips soothe the winter soul. Mashing turnips is easy. Simply scrub the turnips, cut into chunks, boil in water, and mash using a fork or ricer.

- 1 18.25-ounce box spice cake mix plus ingredients called for on box
- 1 turnip, boiled, mashed, and cooled
- 1 cup raisins
- 4 tablespoons organic butter, melted
- ½ cup organic confectioners' sugar
Prepare and bake cake according to cake mix instructions, folding in mashed turnip and raisins after wet ingredients.
Allow cake to cool slightly.
Whisk butter and confectioners' sugar together with a fork. Drizzle cake with glaze.
