Cherry Sugar Plums
These sweet, fruity, nutty treats are easy, economical, and a hit at cookie swaps and holiday parties everywhere. Substitute grenadine for water in this recipe for an extra cherry kick.
INGREDIENTS | MAKES 24 COOKIES
- 1 18-ounce box cherry cake mix
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tablespoon water
- ¼ cup walnuts, chopped
- Confectioners' sugar
Combine all ingredients except confectioners' sugar in a bowl. Spoon into 1″ balls.
Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Preheat oven to 375°F.
Remove cookies from fridge. Place confectioners' sugar in a paper bag and add cookies. Shake very gently to coat.
Place onto an ungreased cookie sheet by spoonfuls. Bake for 12 minutes. Cool on rack.
