Peanut Butter Cake
Play to favorite — and familiar — flavors for the young, picky eaters in your life. This nutty recipe is a winner with the small fry.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 8
- 1 18.25-ounce box yellow cake mix
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1⅓ cups water
- ½ cup crunchy peanut butter
- Peanut Butter Icing
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour a 9″ × 13″ cake pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, water, and peanut butter. Using an electric mixer set to medium speed, beat the mixture for 3 full minutes.
Turn batter into pan and bake for 35 minutes. Allow cake to cool completely before frosting.
Add Layers
To make your PB cake an extra special PBJ cake, invert it onto a serving platter. Mark the center with toothpicks all the way around. Slice the cake in half horizontally and fill with a generous layer of your favorite jelly. Try this on cupcakes as well.
