Leave Your Job?

A part of the dream about investing in foreclosures is the possibility of leaving your job to be a full-time real-estate investor. Many would-be foreclosure investors assume they can, and will, become full-time, self-employed people earning significant incomes.

The vast majority of real-estate investors are part-timers. Most buy properties when they can, as they can, and don't look at real-estate investing as a full-time endeavor.

This doesn't mean that you can't become a full-time real-estate investor. Many investors have started part-time and moved into full-time investing. Because of their business activities in operating and managing their real-estate investments, it became necessary for them to become full-timers.

Beware of real-estate gurus that tell you that you can quickly leave your job and become a full-time real-estate investor. It is more likely they are selling a dream to you than worthwhile information that is likely to allow you to leave your employment.

You could do the same thing: become a full-time, self-employed real-estate investor. There could be a day when you, as a savvy real-estate investor, will leave your job and earn all of your income by investing in foreclosures.
