Setting a Healthy Example

When your toddler sees you enjoying good, nutritious foods, he's more likely to enjoy them himself. If you don't like a particular vegetable, he'll pick up on that, too. Getting your child started with a healthy lifestyle is the loving thing to do, and it can be as simple as having healthy food, instead of chips and candy, around the house. Fathers can help, too. It's hard to maintain healthy eating habits if your mate isn't following the game plan. Dads should try to stick with a healthy menu around their wives and children whenever possible. It's all too easy to let either parent's bad habits become the family's bad habits. An occasional treat is fine, but if you feel the need to indulge in junk food, practice moderation.
