Mayonnaise Biscuits

Rich and moist, these biscuits excel because of the mayonnaise. Once you try them, you may never make old-fashioned biscuits again.

INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 8–10 BISCUITS

  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • ½ teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1¼ cups milk
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.

  2. Sift self-rising flour and sugar into a large bowl, and make a well in the center. Mix 1 cup milk with mayonnaise, add to the dry ingredients, and stir until just combined.

  3. Drop heaping spoonfuls (about ¼ cup) into the prepared pan, evenly spaced. Brush with remaining milk, then bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve warm.
