The Personal Infinitive: Exercise A

• Eu lembro dos nomes dos alunos. (I remember the names of the students.) > É importante eu lembrar os nomes dos alunos. (It's important I remember the names of the students.)

• Vocês dizem a verdade. (You (pl.) tell the truth.) > É essencial vocês dizerem a verdade. (It's essential you (pl.) tell the truth.)

• Elas trazem os livros para a escola. (They bring the books to school.) > É imprescindível elas trazerem os livros para a escola. (It's indispensable that they bring the books to school.)

• Nós visitamos nossos avós. (We visit our grandparents.) > É necessário nós visitarmos nossos avós. (It's necessary that we visit our grandparents.)

• Você e o Roberto põem a mesa. (You and Robert set the table.) > É bom você e o Roberto (vocês) porem a mesa. (It's good that you and Robert set the table.)

• As meninas dormem cedo. (The young girls sleep early.) > É importante as meninas dormirem cedo. (It's important that the girls sleep early.)

The Personal Infinitive: Exercise B

• Antes de eu ligar, eu procurei o número. (Before calling, I looked for the number.)

• Até eles chegarem, nós esperamos. (Until arriving (they), we waited.)

• Depois de vocês comerem, podem lavar os pratos. (After eating, you [pl.] can wash the dishes.)

• Para você receber os presentes, é preciso ser um bom menino. (In order for you to receive the presents, you must be a good boy.)
