There is a funny race called the Four States Race. In it, the contestants must run inside of four different U.S. states. The interesting thing about the race is that the contestants can pick whichever four states they want, and they can start and end wherever they want. Assume that a runner can run at a constant 5 miles per hour without getting tired. What states should the runner pick, and how long will it take to complete the race?
