How Long Does Housetraining Take?

As with all training, housetraining takes as long as it takes. There are so many variables in everyone's busy life that it is really hard to say. However, if you are able to spend the first few days or week with your new puppy, taking your new puppy out faithfully every hour on the hour without fail, after every nap, play session, and meal, you should begin to see some reliability. Your pup should be trying to let you know he needs to go out, which means that he is getting the idea that he needs to go out, and he wants to let you know so that you can help him.

By six months of age, you should see some reliability for periods of up to a few hours. The boxer is a slow-maturing breed, so, you may see accidents up until yours is a year old. However, along with the accidents, you should also be seeing major attempts to do the right thing as concerns potty training, and a minimum of accidents.
