The Best You

Finding a way into a lady's good graces begins with presenting yourself in the right light. While some women are naturally drawn to timid men, many women like to see some show of confidence. You don't have to be six feet tall to look sure of yourself. You just have to know how to pull yourself up — literally — and put your best assets on display.

Attention!

First things first: How's your posture? If you're a natural sloucher, you're going to have to work on standing straight. Put your shoulders back and hold your chest slightly out. Now walk. Take a look at your feet. Are they moving in a straightforward fashion or are your toes pointing inward (making you look weak) — or outward (making you look feminine)? Work on setting them straight.

When you're talking with a girl, should you stand at attention to show you're paying attention, with your shoulders thrown back, or should you act a little more relaxed by, say, sticking one hand in your pocket? The choice is yours and it depends on how comfortable you are in the situation. Just know that while it's a good idea to walk with a straight spine, maintaining that stance all night could make you look too sure of yourself. It's all right to slouch every now and then, as long as this isn't your main posture.

Limbs

When you're talking to a girl, what are you supposed to do with your arms and legs? Is it all right to get really comfortable by crossing the legs at the knee or by spreading them wide so you can stretch your back? It's best not to get too comfortable while you're trying to cozy up to a girl. Sloppy posture implies that you're not on your best behavior, which in turn implies that this attempted pickup isn't all that meaningful to you.

As for the arms, it's all right to make them comfy during a long conversation. You can cross them loosely, hang onto your drink with one, whatever strikes your fancy. Just don't hold your arms off to the side too much while you're talking, no matter how wild the story is. That's a sign of aggression, which can be a real turnoff for some girls.
