According to tradition, May is named after the goddess of spring, Maia, who inspired the earth's reawakening. Her Latin name literally means growth. The first twenty days of May belong to the astrological sign Taurus. The Bull's keynotes include being somewhat aloof, artistic, and very “earthy.” Characteristically, Taureans are not what you'd call morning people (they do much better work in the evening hours). The remainder of the month belongs to the sign of Gemini, the twins.
