Tricks of the Trade
Be prepared: Most feedings don't go all that smoothly. It may seem like it takes you an hour for your baby to eat a meal — and then an hour for you to clean up!
Your baby may grab at the spoon — so give him one of his own to hold. He may want to smoosh the cereal with his fingers. Let him — he'll probably suck some off of his fingers as well. He may refuse to open his mouth. Try opening yours wide and take a bite yourself. It will be pretty bland, but make smacking noises like it's the best chocolate you've ever tasted (or whatever is your favorite food).
