Section 10: Button Theme and Decor Ideas
The baby and button border designed for this party can be used in a variety of ways to create consistent and adorable party décor.
Materials Needed for a Border of Buttons on a Tablecloth or Runner:
1 white or light-colored cotton tablecloth or table runner in desired size
1 package of dark fabric T-shirt transfer paper
1 computer with scanner and color printer
Scissors
Heavy-duty iron
Hard surface to use for ironing clothing. A regular metal ironing board is not recommended by manufacturer.
Directions:
Scan the design you wish to use into your computer. Make any adjustments you want to customize the look of your transfer design. When you are satisfied with the end product, print out onto specialty transfer paper. You should be able to get several images onto one transfer sheet. Save images as JPEG files.
Cut out around images and get ready to place.
Place the images where you want them on the cloth. Cover picture with the contact sheet that comes with the transfer paper.
Iron-on designs as instructed by transfer-paper manufacturer.
You may embellish the T-shirts with fabric paints or just leave them as they are.
Ideas for Button Placement:
Run two rows of buttons around the edge of the table cloth.
Create a grid of buttons over entire cloth.
For a runner, create five rows of buttons across each end.
Go for simplicity — run a single row of buttons down through the table center.
