Presidential elections are held every four years, and in most cases it's a long, contentious, and sometimes even entertaining process. Candidates spend years organizing their campaigns, and as soon as one election concludes, another one begins. Seeking the highest office in the land requires persistence, stamina, single-mindedness, and the willingness to live in a media “fishbowl.” As an observer once noted, running for president is not for the faint of heart.
