You may have even have to go back to less rewarding work to pay the bills from time to time. Do not burn any bridges in your old working world. Keep that network of contacts and sources in your phone book and e-mail address book and use them when necessary. You might have to rely on them from time to time.

If you have a spouse or loved one who supports you in your alternative career and also works, then you can help each other out during any hard times. That is what relationships are all about. If you are a singleton then you need to be take care of yourself and prepare for any eventuality.
