Hot Fudge Ice Cream Dessert

Look for the inexpensive rectangular ice cream sandwiches for this dessert. You may need more or fewer, depending on the size.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 12

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • ¾ cup peanut butter
  • 10 rectangular ice cream sandwiches
  • 1 (16-ounce) jar hot fudge ice cream topping
  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 (8-ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 cups chocolate fudge ice cream
  1. To make peanut butter crumbles, in small bowl combine powdered sugar and peanut butter; blend until crumbly and set aside.

  2. Place the ice cream sandwiches in the bottom of a 9″ × 13″ glass baking dish. Spoon ½ of the ice cream topping over sandwiches; place in freezer.

  3. In medium bowl, beat vanilla ice cream until softened; fold in ½ of the whipped topping and ½ of the peanut butter crumbles. Layer on top of sandwiches with the chocolate fudge ice cream.

  4. Top with remaining ice cream topping, then remaining whipped topping and remaining peanut butter crumbles.

  5. Cover and freeze for 4 to 6 hours before serving.

Make It Special

You could use your own homemade ice cream sandwiches for the base of this dessert. Let them stand at room temperature for about 10 minutes so it's easy to fit them together in the pan. Experiment with different types of ice cream and topping, too.
