Hearty Meatball Pizza
For the pizza crust, you can find prebaked Boboli crusts in the deli department of your supermarket.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 6
- ½ (16-ounce) package frozen cooked meatballs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 prebaked pizza crust
- 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Bake meatballs as directed on package; let cool 15 minutes. Cut each in half; set aside.
Turn oven to 400°F. In small saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat; add onion and garlic; cook and stir for 6 minutes.
Add tomato sauce, mustard, oregano, Italian seasoning, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
Spread sauce over crust. Place meatballs in sauce, cut-side down. Sprinkle with cheeses.
Bake for 15 to 25 minutes or until crust is brown and crisp and cheeses melt and start to brown. Let stand 5 minutes, then slice to serve.
