Hearty Meatball Pizza

For the pizza crust, you can find prebaked Boboli crusts in the deli department of your supermarket.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 6

  • ½ (16-ounce) package frozen cooked meatballs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 prebaked pizza crust
  • 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  1. Bake meatballs as directed on package; let cool 15 minutes. Cut each in half; set aside.

  2. Turn oven to 400°F. In small saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat; add onion and garlic; cook and stir for 6 minutes.

  3. Add tomato sauce, mustard, oregano, Italian seasoning, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Spread sauce over crust. Place meatballs in sauce, cut-side down. Sprinkle with cheeses.

  5. Bake for 15 to 25 minutes or until crust is brown and crisp and cheeses melt and start to brown. Let stand 5 minutes, then slice to serve.
