Grilled Waldorf Sandwiches
Cinnamon bread and canned chicken combine for a fabulous and flavorful sandwich your family will love.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 6 TO 8
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
- 1 (12-ounce) can dark and light meat chicken, drained
- 1 Granny Smith apple, chopped
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ cup chopped celery
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 12 slices cinnamon raisin bread
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
In medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, curry powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; mix well.
Add chicken, apple, raisins, celery, walnuts, and cheese and mix well.
Divide mixture among 6 slices cinnamon raisin bread. Top with remaining bread slices to make sandwiches. Butter the outsides of the sandwiches.
Grill sandwiches, covered, turning once, until the bread is toasted and filling is hot. Cut in half and serve immediately.
