Wired for the Twenty-First Century
The ADHD adult is wired for peak performance and success in the complicated and ever-changing twenty-first century.
Poised for a New Millennium
True, an ADHD adult may have problems focusing on things that are mundane and boring, such as where he put his glasses. But because their thinking process is different from that of other people, they have the sort of creative mindset that leads to great works of art, science, and invention; a surplus of ideas; great enthusiasm and excitement; prolonged interest; and the ability to see the big picture.
Right-Brain Masters
ADHD adults have the skills and right-brain power required to succeed in the twenty-first century. Because they thrive on visual imagery and stimulation, they are naturally attracted to computers, which are accelerating the rate at which new information and knowledge can be disseminated and interrelated.
Natural Entrepreneurs
Mavericks by nature, ADHD adults may not always be good followers, but they often excel as leaders.
Fact
While chronic disorganization and clutter are problems that affect most ADHD adults, many are highly adept at functioning in chaotic environments. In fact, they may actually require chaos to create, invent, or function at their peak.
If your company is stifling your creativity and motivation and you want to make a switch, consider looking for a business that is flexible and open to dialogue, where you'll have some freedom to arrange your environment, schedule, and work habits. If you're restless and unfocused at work because the issues you deal with just don't interest you, you may excel doing the exact same job if you find topics you enjoy. If your job is so stressful that you can't focus or concentrate because you're always upset, take that as a sign you need to think about making a change.
